The Fountain
This 12 foot tall fountain based on the form of a spider crab circulates white and dark chocolate and invites viewers to partake in skewering and stripping the sculpture of its strawberries, marshmallows, pretzels and bonbons. The circulating chocolate is in operation for the interactive opening reception. The aftermath is on display for the remainder of the exhibition.
At well over 1,000 lbs., The Fountain ships in 12 crates, assembles in 36 separate sections over an internal steel pipe and requires a minimum 14 foot high gallery ceiling. For this reason, it has only been shown twice, once in OH at Arcanum and once outside of Seattle, WA at Predilection. I am looking forward to showing The Fountain at Yavapai College’s Gallery in Prescott, AZ with its 35 foot high ceilings.
